Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of GIS Defence Awareness Platform (the "Service"), operated by GIS Defence Awareness Platform("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and legally permitted to use the Service. You may not use the Service if you are barred under applicable law, including sanctions or export-control regulations.

2. Licence to use

The Service is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial, informational use. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access it, subject to these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law, regulation, or sanctions/export-control regime;
  • use any data from the Service to harass, stalk, surveil, endanger, target, or harm any person, group, or property;
  • use the Service for navigation, or for operational, tactical, military, targeting, or emergency-response purposes;
  • attempt to re-identify individuals or derive personal data from the Service;
  • scrape, mirror, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its data providers, or exceed reasonable request volumes;
  • remove or obscure attributions, or use third-party data in violation of its licence (see Data Sources), including any non-commercial restrictions;
  • reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the Service without permission.

4. Third-party data and services

The Service aggregates and links to third-party data, media, and embedded content that we do not own or control. Your use of that content may be subject to the third party's own terms and licences. We make no representations about third-party content and are not responsible for it.

5. Intellectual property

The Service's original software, design, and branding are owned by GIS Defence Awareness Platform or its licensors. Third-party data and media remain the property of their respective owners and are used under the licenses described in Data Sources.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. See our full Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GIS Defence Awareness Platform and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Service or any third-party content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GIS Defence Awareness Platform and its contributors from any claim arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

9. Changes and availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or these Terms at any time without notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The Service may be unavailable from time to time.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of ontario /canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, to the extent permitted by law.
